Fort Edward Augt. 13th 1757 In ye Morning a Number of
the Provensiels that Came from the Lake Since ye Fort was
Surrenderd Went of to Go Home--a Detachment of ye Ragu-
lars was Sent into ye Fort to Do Duty there--After ye Guard
was Relievd Serjt. Giles & I went Over ye River &qmp; Down to
the Incampment of ye Millitia there I Se Col : Whitney &
Majr. Henman--I Found out one Insn. Stephens from Canaan
