Phineas5 Whitney (Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Isaac4 and Sarah (Crosby) Whitney was born 5 Jun 1747 at York, ME[1] and died 13 Nov 1832 at Norridgewock, ME, at age 85; Record of Mortality in Norridgewock 1774-1891 (also LDS film No 11577) p 29. Nov. 13, 1832 Phineas Whitney, consumption and old age, 82 years.

Phineas married Anna Morton, daughter of Bryant Morton and Thankful Parker, 19 Oct 1769 at Gorham, ME; m. Mary Blethen before 1 Sep 1818 at Norridgewock, ME;

Anna Morton was born say 1749.

i. Stephen Whitney6, b. 23 Sep 1771 at Gorham, ME; m. Ruth Boody 26 Jan 1800 at Limington, ME.
ii. Crosby Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1773 at Gorham, ME; Marriage banns for he and Mary Higgins were published 15 Jul 1795 at North Yarmouth, ME; wife "of Standish;" Marriage banns for he and Mary Higgins were published 20 Jul 1795 at Standish, ME; husband "of North Yarmouth", wife "of Standish."
iii. Affia Whitney, b. 12 Jan 1776 at Gorham, ME; Marriage banns for she and Dominicus Mitchell were published 3 Jan 1795 at North Yarmouth, ME; m. Dominicus Mitchell 12 Feb 1795 at North Yarmouth, ME; by Rev. Rufus Anderson; m. Dominicus Mitchell 12 Feb 1795 at Cumberland, ME.
She was also known as Affie Whitney. She was also known as Aphia Whitney.
iv. Jonathan Whitney, b. 8 Feb 1778 at Gorham, ME; m. Polly Gates 16 Aug 1798 at Bridgton, ME.
He and John Whitney may be the same person.
v. Jabez Whitney, b. circa 1780 at of North Yarmouth, ME; b. 22 Mar 1780; m. an unknown person; IGI Batch # 7125011 007, Maine, Vivian Wade, 1751 Stonehedge Dr, Salem 97303, 503-390-4033,; VITAL RECORDS OF CHESTERVILLE, MAINE; 1803-1811; Town Clerk,*photocopied by LDS FHC, film # 010792 a 2nd item, although not marked as such; PP 336;LDS FHC, film # 010792; states Jabez "of North Yarmouth"; letter, dated 31 MAR 1990; ; Rosalie DeMartino to John Clement; copy in poss of John Clement, Denver, CO; Marriage banns for he and Abigail Milk Wheeler were published 11 Mar 1804 at North Yarmouth, ME; wife "of Chesterville;" m. Abigail Milk Wheeler, daughter of John Wheeler and Mollie aka Mary Ingraham, 2 Apr 1804 at Chesterville, ME; d. 1839 at IL.
vi. John Whitney, b. say 1782; guess by RLW; Marriage banns for he and Mary Walker were published 11 Nov 1804 at North Yarmouth, ME; wife "of Freeport;" m. Mary Walker 29 Nov 1804 at Freeport, ME.
He was also known as Capt. John Whitney. He was also known as Jonathan Whitney. He and Jonathan Whitney may be the same person. He lived in 1832 at Portland, ME.
vii. Anna Whitney, b. circa 1789; Marriage banns for she and David Chandler were published 20 Aug 1809 at North Yarmouth, ME; husband "of Wilton;" m. David Chandler, son of Jacob Chandler and Rhoda Pollard, 2 Nov 1809 at North Yarmouth, ME; husband "of Wilton;" d. 29 May 1858.
She was also known as Ann. She was also known as Anne.
viii. Reuben Whitney, baptized 29 May 1792 at Cumberland, ME; baptized 29 May 1792 at North Yarmouth, ME; m. Lucy Sawyer 11 Sep 1819 at Mercer, ME.
He lived in 1832 at Norridgewock, ME.

Mary Blethen married Isaac Fish on 8 Jun 1779 at Georgetown, ME. She married Ezekiel Emerson on 15 Apr 1786 at Georgetown, ME.

There were no children of Phineas5 and Mary (Blethen) Whitney.
