married (2d), 1 Jan. 1849, at Norwich, N. Y., by Rev. Daniel Clark, Presbyterian, to Mary Ann Hitchcock, dau. of Jeduthan and Sally (Mead) Hitchcock, or Norwich, where she was born 14 Nov. 1815. He has lived in New York City for thirteen years; in Geneva, N. Y., two years ; in Nineveh, twenty-four years; at Chaumont, in Lyme, N. Y., two years; and, in January 1873, he dwelt in Middletown, Wis., which had been his borne for four and a half years. In May 1877, it was reported that "he died lately, at Middletown," date not given.
1995 II. Jemima Ann Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 7 Oct. 1814, married in Walton, by Rev. Fayette Shepherd, Congregational, to Uriah Marvin, a cabinet-maker and painter, of Greene, N. Y., born in Norwalk, Conn., 25 July 1811, son or Simeon and Susanna (Hoyt) Marvin.1 They lived in Greene for a short time, and then settled at Deposit, N. Y., where she died, 12 May 1874. 6320
1996 III. Matthew Seymour Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 20 July 1816; a farmer ; married at Troy, N. Y., 15 Feb. 1838, Rebecca Stewart, born in June 1814, dau. of Robert and Jane (Mills) Stewart. She died 19 Nov. 1857. He was married (2d), 9 June 1859, in Coventry, N. Y., by his brother, Rev. Willard Miner Hoyt, to Marcia Tyler, born 3 Nov. 1830, dau. of Harvey and Eunice (Riggs) Tyler. He lived at Coventry, in May 1877, on the old homestead. 6332
1997 IV. John Benedict Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 22 May 1818; a teacher; married, 28 June 1854, in Coventry, N. Y., by his uncle, Rev. John Benedict Hoyt, Presbyterian, or Coventry, to Jane Beecher, born in Coventry, 15 May 1828, dau. of Parson and ----- (Porter) Beecher, who lived in Naugatuck, Conn., at the time of her marriage. He settled at Pittston, Penn., in 1854, removed to West Pittston, Penn., in 1855, and was living there in 1877. 6336
1998 V. Ephraim Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 23 Nov. 1819; married, 21 Ap. 1841, in Greene, N. Y., Mary Margaret Cole, widow of ----- Adams, who was born 3 Ap. 1812. They settled in Greene. They were instantly killed, about 3 o'clock in the morning of 15 Ap. 1868, in one of the cars which were thrown from the track of the Erie Railway, at Carr's Rock, near Port Jervis, N. Y. About twenty-five persons perished in this accident, some being burned in the cars, and over seventy were badly injured, among whom were their daughter, Margaret Jennings Hoyt, and their adopted daughter. They were buried near Chenango Forks, N. Y. 6343

  1 Simeon Marvin and wife moved from Norwalk, Conn., in 1816, to Greene, N. Y., where he died about 1858, since which she has lived in Binghamton, N. Y.
