4567 VII. Ann Hicks, b. at Norton, N. B., 30 Sept. 1809; married at Kingston, N. B., 26 Feb. 1831, by Rev. William Scovil, Episcopal, to Thomas Hanford Pettingell, a farmer, son of Thomas and Rhoda (Carr) Pettingell, of Newburyport, Mass. He was born at St. John, N. B., 22 Ap. 1798. They settled at Rothesay, N. B.; where he died 14 July 1860, and was buried in St. John Cemetery. She was living at Rothesay in Feb. 1874. 11809
4568 VIII. Lydia Hicks, b. at Hampton, N. B., 21 March 1814; married there, in the Episcopal Church, 4 Jan. 1838, by Rev. W. W. Walker, to Joseph Lamb, a farmer, son of Joseph and ----- (Saunders) Lamb, of Kingston, N. B., where he was born 13 Ap. 1813. They settled at Kingston; and there she died 3 Jan. 1843, and was buried near St. Luke's Chapel-of-ease, Hampton. He married again, and was living at Kingston in May 1874. 11816
4569 IX. Benjamin Gale Hicks, b. at Hampton, N. B., 15 (var. 18) June 1820; a ship-carpenter; married at Rothesay, N. B., 6 Jan. 1855, Susanna Carpenter, dau. of Ephraim and Anna (Kierstead) Carpenter, of Cambridge, N. B., where she was born 29 Ap. 1831. They dwelt in Carleton, St. John, N. B., till 5 Sept. 1867; and then moved to Rothesay, where they were living in Feb. 1874.

4570 I. Mary Adams, b. at St. John, N. B., 21 Aug. 1800; died unmarried, 2 May 1868, at St. John, and was buried there.
4571 II. Charles Adams, b. at St. John, N. B., 9 March 1802; married, 24 Nov. 1839, Almira Leavitt, who was born 9 Ap. 1818, and died 24 Aug. 1843. He married (2d), 15 Sept. 1847, at St. John, Mary Sawyer Chipman; and died at St. John, date unknown. She was living at Halifax, N. S., in Feb. 1874. 11817
4572 III. Eliza Adams, b. at St. John, N. B., 22 Oct. 1805; married there, 24 Aug. 1836, Capt. Thomas Hardenbrook, of St. John. They settled in that city, and there died, without children--she, about 1840; he, about 1845. She was buried by the side of her father, at the corner of King and Carmarthen Streets, St. John.
4573 IV. Jane Adams, b. at St. John, N. B., 30 Sept. 1807; married there, 17 May 1835, by Rev. Dr. Gray, to Capt. John Leavitt, a merchant, son of John and Margaret (Frost) Leavitt, of Carleton, St. John, where he was born 14 Nov. 1809. They dwelt in St. John for twenty years; and in
