II. Mary Louisa Whitney, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 6 June 1835; married in 1854, at Henderson, N. Y., Livingston Stevens, a farmer, who was born in Henderson, son of Charles and Abby (Edmonds) Stevens. They lived in Ellisburgh; then in Watertown, Wisconsin; and again in Ellisburgh.

III. Knight Dexter Whitney, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 7 Sept. 1837; unmarried; enlisted at Belleville, in Ellisburgh, 9 May 1861, in Co. K, 24th Reg., N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry; was shot through the right lung, 14 Sept. 1862, in the battle of South Mountain, Va.; died of the wound, 22 Oct. 1862, at the Emory General Hospital, in Washington, D. C.; and was buried the next day, in the Soldiers' Cemetery in Washington.

IV. Clark Whitney, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 10 June 1840; a locomotive-engineer; married, in 1873, Maria Aldrich. They lived in Lansing, Michigan, in 1874, without children. He served in the Union army during the war of 1861, for three years (first in Co. K, 24th Reg., N. Y. S. Vol. Infantry), and was transferred to the 86th Reg., N. Y. S. Volunteers, before his discharge.
