hardware-merchant; married, 24 June 1824, at 18 Christie Street, New York, Anna Rebecca Carthwaite Halsey, born on Staten Island, N. Y., 1 Sept. 1800, dau. of Dr. Ichabod Benton Halsey. He has been engaged in business, for many years. in New York City, at 4 Chatham Square and 6 Catharine Street; and resided, in 1876, at 158 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, N. Y. There she died, 17 Dec. 1871, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery.

Y., where he was married, 7 June 1818, by William Lupton, Esq., at the house of her father, to Hannah Gray Eells,1 born in New Canaan, 25 Jan. 1801, dau. of Samuel and Hannah (Gray) Eells, who settled in Walton, 1 May 1809. They settled in Walton, and still resided there in 1874. 6229
1961 II. Betty St. John, b. in New Canaan, Norwalk, Conn., 31 March 1800; married by Peter St. John, Esq., 21 Sept. 1817, in Walton, N. Y., to Nathaniel Gray Eells,1 a farmer, horn in New Canaan, 15 May 1794, son of Samuel and Hannah (Gray) Eells. They settled in Walton, about 6235
