Seventh Generation.
They settled in Norwalk, where she died 4 Jan. 1868, and was buried in Norwalk Cemetery. He was living at Norwalk, in Ap. 1875, in railroad business.
2161 II. John Burr Olmstead, b. in Ridgefield, Conn., to Sept. 1812; a shoemaker; married, 16 Oct. 1835, at Ridgefield, Sarah Mead.1 dau. of James and Sarah (Sherwood) Mead, of Ridgefield. She was born at Reading, Conn., 23 May 1813. They settled in Ridgefield, and there died (he, 2 Ap. 1838; she, 18 May 1847), and were buried in Titicus Cemetery. 6695
2162 III. Stephen Olmstead, b. in Ridgefield, Conn., 9 Dec. 1814; a shoemaker; married, 12 Sept. 1841, at Ridgefield, by Rev. Warner Hoyt, rector of St. Stephen's Church, Ridgefield, to Eliza Mead,1 dau. of James and Sarah (Sherwood) Mead, of Ridgefield, and g. dau. of Benjamin Sherwood. She was born at Reading, Conn., 12 June 1818. They settled in Ridgefield, and were living there in Ap. 1875. 6696

Charles Olmstead, b. in Ridgefield, Conn., 16 Nov. 1819; a carriage-painter; married, 26 Sept. 1841, at Ridgefield, Sarah Esther Smith, dau. of Henry and Anna (Rockwell) Smith, of Ridgefield, where she was born 20 Nov. 1821. He enlisted at Westport, Conn., 7 Aug. 1862, as a private, in Co. E, 17th Conn. Vol. Infantry; served for three years, and received the Connecticut Testimonial of Honor, dated 4 July 1867. They were living with her father, at Ridgefield, in Ap. 1875. He died of paralysis, 17 Dec. 1876. 6699
