IV. Charles Olmstead, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 22 Sept. 1825; married, 8 Dec. 1850, at Norwalk, Conn., Mary Jane Lockwood, dau. of Charles and Emeline (Brown) Lockwood, of Norwalk. They dwelt in Ridgefield, Reading, and Norwalk. She died at Norwalk, and was buried there. He married (2d), 12 Nov. 1874, at Detroit Mich., Nannie Eels Hobby, dau. of William A. and Martha (Eels) Hobby, of Utica, N. Y. She was born at Whitestown, N. Y., 8 Oct. 1836. They were living at Norwalk, in May 1875; and he was then the postmaster of that town.

Rachel Elizabeth Olmstead, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 17 Oct. 1827; married in Feb. 1849, at Ridgefield, Charles Francis Canfield, a tailor, son of Rufus and Polly (Northrop) Canfield, of Ridgefield, where he was born 25 Dec. 1826. She died, 20 Dec. 1849, at New Castle, N. Y., and was buried in Titicus Cemetery, Ridgefield.

VI. Ira Olmstead, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 30 Dec. 1829; a carpenter; married, 6 May 1856, at Chester, N. Y., Elizabeth Vail Compton, dau. of Jonas S. and Mary Ann (Vail) Compton, of Chester She was born at "Oak Hill", Tioga Co., N. Y., 25 Nov. 1835. They dwelt in Piermont, N. Y., a short time; in Chester, till Ap. 1873; and then settled at Fort Jervis, N. Y., when they were living in Jan. 1876. He was then employed in the car-factory of the Erie Railway Company.

Clara Amanda Olmstead, twin, b. at Wilton, Conn., 9 Ap. 1832; married, 10 Oct. 1855, at Norwalk, Conn., George Hurlbutt, a carriage-maker, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Sanford) Hurlbutt, of Wilton, where he was born 28 March 3832. They dwelt in Norwalk till 1856, and then settled in Port Chester, N. Y., where they were living in Jan. 1876.

Clinton Clark, Congregational, to Richard Dunning, a teacher of vocal and instrumental musk, son of John and Lydia (Jessup) Dunning, of Wilton, where he was born 19 Oct. 1814 They settled in Wilton, and were living there in Jan. 1876.
