I. William Wilson Rankins, b. at Cincinnati, Ohio, as he states, but more probably on the Cincinnati Creek, Oneida Co., N. Y.; a carpenter and joiner; married at Gananoque, U. C., 10 Feb. 1831, Susan Fulford, born at Elizabeth-town, U. C., 13 Aug. 1812, dau. of Abel and Mary (Elliott) Fulford, who were emigrants from Connecticut. He lived in the Mohawk Valley, N. Y., for three years; at Orleans, N. Y., with his aunt, Esther (Whitney) Towsley, a short time; moved to Ellisburgh, N. Y.; went thence to Gananoque, where he dwelt about eight years; and then settled at Belleville, C. W., where they were living in July 1877.

I. Richard Austin Polley, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 23 Aug. 1813; a carpenter and joiner; married in Cleveland, Ohio, March 1835, Mary Ann Whipple, who was born in Stanstead, Lower Canada, 15 Feb. 1814, dau. of Jonathan and Sarah (Eastman) Whipple, who afterward lived in Clinton Co., N. Y. He moved from Ohio to Crawford Co., Penn.; thence to Mondovia, Wis.; and finally to Woodburn, Oregon, where they were living in 1874.

II. Sarah Ann Polley, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 27 June 1816; married at her father's house in Richmond, Penn., 1 Jan. 1840, by Rev. D. Rockwell, Methodist Episcopal, to David Luther Mackey, a farmer, who was born in Cooperstown, N. Y., 8 Oct. 1812, son of Elias and Anna (Baker) Mackey.2 They settled in Richmond, Penn., and were living there in 1874.

III. Samuel Polley, b. in Ellisburgh, N. Y., 23 May 1818; a farmer; married in Richmond, Penn., 16 Jan. 1843, by Rev. Calvin Dewey Rockwell, Methodist Episcopal, of Cambridge, Penn., to Marian Abigail Hotchkiss, who was born in Hampton, N. Y., in 1819, dau. of Rev. David and Abigail (Phillips) Hotchkiss. He settled in Richmond, and was living there in 1874.

2 Elias Mackey and wife lived in Cooperstown till 1850, and then removed to Pennsylvania, where they died. They were buried in Richmond Cemetery.
