Seventh Generation.
(Crosby) Benedict. They settled first in Danbury ; and thence moved to the north part of Penfield, now Webster, N. Y., where he died in 1821. She married (2d), Asa Cook, and lived, in 1873, at West Webster, N. Y. Mrs. Morehouse reports her as having twelve or fourteen children; while the Benedict Genealogy, p. 255, shows only four, not reporting the Cook children.

2926 II. Polly Osborn, b. at Brookfield, Conn., 28 March 1799, married there, 16 Jan. 1825, William Gideon Morehouse, a millwright, who was born at Brookfield, 24 Oct. 1799, son of James and Matilda (Bartram) Morehouse. He settled in Brookfield, where he died 22 June 1866, "aged 66 years and 8 months", and was buried in the Prickback graveyard. She lived in the west part of Brookfield, with her daughter, in 1873. 8241
2927 III. Hermon Osborn, b. at Brookfield, Conn., 10 Dec. 1803; a farmer; died in Hudson, N. Y., when about 30 years old, and was buried there.
2928 IV. Richard Osborn, b. at Brookfield, Conn., 29 Jan. 1805; a blacksmith; married at Bridgewater, Conn., Maria Merwin. In July 1873, she lived with her daughter, Jennett, in Bridgewater; he, in New Fairfield, Conn. 8242

2929 I. Orra Lobdell, b. at Brookfield, Conn., 4 Feb. 1781; married there, 30 May 1813, as a second wife, Jerry Hoyt, a cooper, son of Nathan and Dorcas (Picket) Hoyt, of Danbury, Conn., where he was born 9 Oct. 1779. They dwelt in King Street, Danbury, till 5 June 1816; and then moved to Rochester, N. Y., arriving 20 June 1816. "The city then consisted of mud, stumps, log-heaps, and a few frame houses." They died at Rochester--she, in Aug. 1836; he, in Nov. 1836. He was half-brother of Rebecca Hoyt, who married Daniel Osborn..
