II. John Clawson Whitney, b. in Orange Co., N. Y., 31 May 1817; a merchant; married by Rev. L. M. Vincent, Methodist Episcopal, at her father's house in Suffolk Street, corner of Stanton, New York, 2 March 1846, to Catharine Webb, born in Greenwich Street, New York, 26 Aug. 1822, dau. of Charles and Abigail Webb. In 1877, he and his brother Daniel were in business together, as wholesale grocers, at 20 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, N. Y. He died 9 Aug. 1877.

Talmage, mayor of Brooklyn, at 155 High Street, Brooklyn, 5 July 1845, to Sarah Titus, dau. of Henry Titus, of Glen Cove, L. I., where she was born 11 June 1822.
