Simon Whitney (Thomas, John), son of Thomas and Mary (Clark) Whitney, was baptized 4 Nov 1761, Thrapston, Northamptonshire, and died 24 Oct 1837, Keyston, Huntingdonshire.

He "of Aldwincle" married firstly, 12 Apr 1784, Lowick, Northamptonshire, England, Alice Sharman, of Lowick, daughter of John and Mary (-----) Sharman. She was baptized 18 Oct 1753, Buckworth, Huntingdonshire and died 1794, Keyston, Huntingdonshire.

He married secondly, 28 Jun 1795, Aldwincle St.Peter, Northamptonshire, Hannah Johnson, both of Aldwincle, daughter of John and Hannah (Sharman) Johnson. She was baptized 1767, Aldwincle, Northamptonshire, and died Sep 1846, Thrapston, Northamptonshire.

In Jan 1817 he was tried in Northamptonshire, and acquitted.

In the summer of 1823 he was tried and convicted, and sentenced to transportation.
