The comment states that he is not found in any census, however I have found a Benjamin Whitney that I don't know who he belongs to, so wondering if he is this Benjamin. In the 1880 census there is a Benjamin Whitney living with Sarah Jane Seavey and William B. Seavey in Bristol, ME, he is 6 years old. Sarah Jane is Sarah Jane Whitney, Alvin's older sister. She married William B. Seavey after David Merry passed away.
Pierce says:
- "ALBION, b. -----; m. 1863; res. Gloucester, Mass.; a son was Benjamin L."
