Our records verify the lineage you gave on your user page back as far as Thomas and Mary (Bray) Whitney, of Westminster, England. Unfortunately, the lineage beyond that is impossible. Thomas was too old, or Sir Robert and Sybil (Baskerville) Whitney were too young, to have a grandson-grandparent relationship. For disproof of the alleged connection to the Whitneys of Whitney, see the last paragraph of that essay, with links to the two articles containing the details. For a new theory, still not proven, you may be interested in a talk I gave in 2004 on that subject.
Sorry to cut you off from all those illustrious ancestors, but actually they were never yours at all.
