Francis Amise9 Whitney (Daniel A.8, John C,7, Jeremiah6, (poss.) John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Daniel A.8 and Mary (-----) Whitney, was born 7 Feb 1879, Kingman, Penobscot Co., ME, and died after 1944.

He married, probably before 1930, Coronacion Patriarca. She was born circa 1908, Pototan, Iloilo Province, Philippines.

On 21 Oct 1918, Francis A. Whitney applied for a passport. He swore that he was born 7 Feb 1879, Kingman, ME, son of Daniel A. Whitney, who was born in and currently resided in Weld, ME. He stated that he already had a passport, issued 17 Aug 1917 from the Governor-General of the Philippine Islands. His legal domicile was in Maine, but he resided Calgan, Chihli, China. He last left the Philippine Islands 21 Aug 1917 arriving in Calgan [now Zhangjiakou], Chihli [now Hebei], China in Oct 1917 for the purpose of Salesman in Charge for British-American Tobacco Co., Ltd. He stated that he had resided at Guam, Ladrome Islands from 1899 to 1904, the Philippine Islands from 1905 to 1917, and in China from Sep 1917 to Oct 1918. He was 39 years old, 5 ft. 6 3/4 inches tall, light brown hair, hazel eyes, ruddy complexion, broad forehead, round chin, and a prominent nose.

On 12 May 1921 he applied for a passport. Francis A. Whitney was born 7 Feb 1879, Kingman, ME, son of Daniel A. Whitney, then residing in Weld, ME. His legal domicile was Weld, ME but he resided in Shanghai, China. He worked for the British-American Tobacco Company (China) Ltd. (British firm) operating in China. He resided on the island of Guam from 1899-1904, Philippine Island from 1907-1917 (Sept.), and in China from 1917 (Sept.) He requested a passport for the purpose of visiting China, Japan, Philippine Islands, and Hong Kong. The passport notes that while in the Philippines, he was Governor of one of the provinces of the Philippine Islands. He was 5 ft 6 3/4 inches tall, hazel eyes, ruddy complexion, with light brown hair.

The family was listed on the 18 May 1944 passenger list arriving from Sydney, Australia on the "Sea Scamp". The father was Francis A. Whitney, age 67, from Kingman, Maine. His wife was Coronacion Whitney, age 36, born in Pototan, Ilo Ilo Province, Philippine Islands. Their children were:

ii. Jane Whitney, b. 23 May 1932, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Province, Philippines. She may have been the biological mother of WRG member Francisco "Kiko" Whitney, who was put up for adoption in 1955.
iii. Grace Whitney, b. 5 Jun 1933, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Province, Philippines. On 18? Jun 1956, Grace Whitney, age 23, arrived from "Bascled City", P.I. and her final destination was San Francisco, CA - 20 City View Way.[1]
iv. Edgar Whitney, b. 4 Feb 1935, Jaro District, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Philippines.
v. Richard James Whitney, b. 9 Feb 1936, Jaro District, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Philippines; m. Aida Seballos.
vi. Winifred Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1938, Jaro District, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Philippines.
vii. George Whitney, b. 12 Feb 1940, Jaro District, Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Philippines.
