George Ashby7 Whitney (Chauncey Harris6, Benjamin5, John4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Chauncey Harris6 and Caroline Matilda (Craig) Whitney, was born 6 Jan 1831, Mexico, NY, and died after 1900.
He married firstly, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, Rebecca Hendrickson. She died before 1860.
He married secondly, Elmore, OH, Angeline J. Rice, daughter of Russell and Margaret (Macbeth) Rice, of Elmore. She died after 1900.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a carpenter and builder . . . . They moved to Ottawa Co., Ohio, in the Autumn of 1861, and were living there, at Elliston (of which he was postmaster), in 1874."
