Henry⁶ Whitney (Archibald⁵, Henry⁴, Josiah³, John², Henry¹), son of Archibald⁵ and Nancy (Brower) Whitney, was born 14 Nov 1802, New York, NY, and died 29 Jul 1862, Birmingham, CT. He was buried in the Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham, CT.

He married, 17 Aug 1839, Rye, NY, Maria Frances Phillips, daughter of John and Abigail (Ogden) Phillips. She was born 14 Jul 1818, Fairfield, CT, and died 1 Feb 1852, Derby, CT.

Phoenix says the following:

"Henry Whitney, b. in New York City, 14 Nov. 1802; married, 17 Aug. 1839, at Rye, N. Y., Maria Frances Phillips, born at Fairfield, Conn., 14 July 1818, dau. of John and Abigail (Ogden) Phillips, of Bridgeport, Conn. They settled at Derby, Conn., where he held the offices of town-clerk and judge of probate. She died 1 Feb. 1852. He died at Birmingham, Conn., 29 July 1862, and was buried in the Birmingham Cemetery."

iii.	Thomas Hart Benton Whitney, b. 18 Sep 1843, Birmingham, CT; a commercial traveller; resided Birmingham, CT, Nov 1872, unmarried. He served, for three months, in Co. D, 2d Reg., Conn. Vol. Infantry.
iv.	Henry Archibald Whitney, b. 25 Dec 1846, Birmingham, CT; m. Mary Ella Bassett.
v.	Edward Huntington Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1849, Birmingham, CT; d. 8 Sep 1856, Birmingham, CT; bur. Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham, CT.
vi.	Albert Whitney, b. 3 May 1850 (twin), Birmingham, CT; d. 23 Jul 1850, Birmingham, CT; bur. Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham, CT.
vii.	Arthur Whitney, b. 3 May 1850 (twin), Birmingham, CT; said to reside Ottawa, IL, Dec 1872.
