I see he was in the south where the Whitneys were predominantly descendants of Samuel Whitney, but I also see that he was in Randolph County, NC, where Eli Whitney, a descendant of John Whitney was located. Have you considered asking one of your brothers or uncles to join the Whitney [[DNA]] study? A simple test could tell us whether Elijah was a descendant of Samuel or John! | ||
