Alvin7 Whitney (Eliab Turner6, Josiah5, John4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Eliab Turner6 and Lydia (Williams) Whitney, was born 16 Feb 1840, Newcastle, ME, and died after 1870.

He married, before 1864, Ann -----, possibly daughter of Anne Fields. She was born about 1845, ME.

F. C. Pierce writes that his name was Albion, but in her pension application his mother writes that his name was Alvin.

He is probably found in the 1870 census of Rockport, MA:

Alvin Whitney, age 30, fisherman, b. ME
Ann Whitney, age 25, keeping house, b. ME
Alice Whitney, age 6, at school, b. ME
Anne Fields, age 65, no occupation, b. ME

This family is not found in any other census.

The son Benjamin L. Whitney claimed for him by F. C. Pierce is also not found in this census.

Children of Alvin7 and Ann (-----) Whitney:

i. Alice8 Whitney, b. ca. 1864, ME.
