My Whitney Line

Edit My Whitney Line

My earliest direct line Whitney ancestor was Mary Whitney b. 1675 Groton, MA m. Ephraim Pierce b. 1673 Watertown, MA. Mary & Ephraim's daughter "Sarah"", b. 1702 Groton , MA, m.in 1720 Jonathan Parker b. 1698 Groton, MA,( s/o Samuel Parker & Abigail Lakin of Groton, MA). Both Jonathan Parker and Sarah Pierce d. on the same day in 1723 in Groton, supposedly victims of an Indian attack. Their only son Jonathan Parker Jr. infant, survived the attack and was raised by his maternal grandparents Ephraim Pierce and Mary Whitney-Pierce. Jonathan Parker Jr. married Elinor Hunt; their son Samuel Parker married Hannah Platts; their son Ruel married Emily Hatch-Tenney (widow); their son Charles married Eliza Perkins; their son Jackson V. married Laura Shepherd; their son Jackson V married Lorayn Anger (my parents).

My direct line Parker emigrant ancestor was Capt. James Parker b. 1617 Great Burstead England, m. Elizabeth Long. I have over 29k Parkers et al in my data base and there are many Whitneys included throughout the generations. I have referenced the WRG in the past and have been very impressed with the effort put into this project and the information available to not only the Whitneys but other early New England families.
