John6 Whitney (John5, Abraham4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of John5 and Sarah (Atherton) Whitney, was born 13 Apr 1780, Topsfield, MA, and died 26 Jun 1865, Goffstown, NH.
Marriage intentions were published 24 Apr 1808, Salem, MA, for him "of Lynn" and Mary Munday.[1] He married, 8 May 1809, Lynn, MA, Mary Mundy.[2] She was born 30 Nov 1790, and died 23 Jul 1878, Goffstown, NH.
He was born in Bolton and married his wife in Salem, MA. Soon after his marriage he moved to New Hampshire, settling in Weare and engaging in the manufacture of oil at a small village, which took its name from the oil mill and is at present known as Oil Mill Village. After a few years he sold his mill and purchased a farm at Goffstown and passed the remainder of his days on his farm. He resided Goffstown, NH.
