Demsey Whitney, parentage unknown but perhaps son of Ransom Whitney, was born ca. 1813, NC, and died after 1860.
He married Martha L. -----. She was born ca. 1804, TN, and died after 1860.

Dempsey Whitney born about 1813 in North Carolina. Known marriage to a Martha L. unknown. Dempsey and Martha are in Perry County, Missouri in 1860. They do have a son named Ransom. They would have come through Tennessee as three children born there and Martha was born there also. - GenForum post.
