Thomas S.6 Whitney (Joseph5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Joseph5 and Rebecca (Stinchfield) Whitney, was born 10 Sep 1799, Phillips, ME, and died 5 Aug 1865, Burns Township, Henry Co., IL.
He married, 14 Jun 1827, Maineville, Warren Co., OH, Lydia Tufts. She was born 18 Apr 1806, Phillips, ME, and died 24 Feb 1882, Burns Township, Henry Co., IL.

Melissa D. Whitney, b. ca. 1836, OH; m. Samuel Lynn Edmonds, farmer. vi. Jaruel B. Whitney, b. ca. 1842, IN; m. Caroline C. Henderson; he was a farmer. vii.
