Lt. Col. Shugbrough Whitney, Esq. (Thomas), son of Thomas and Maria (Boleyn) Whitney, was born about 1684, and died 5 Apr 1746, killed at the en:Battle of Falkirk Muir.
His name was also listed as "Shuckburg Witney".
He married Margery Eyre, daughter of John Eyre, Eyrecourt Castle, Co. Galway.
He is mentioned in the will of his brother Thomas Whitney, dated 30 Apr 1740, as "Shuckburgh Whitney, Lieut. Colonel in H.M.'s service."
