Transcribed by Tim Doyle.
pp. 61 & 62: 128. ASHBEL CASE (Reuben) was born 17 June 1752 in Simsbury(VR), baptized 21 June 1752 in the Wintonbury Church and died in New York. He married AZUBAH FOOTE, daughter of Joseph and Azubah (Griswold) Foote. She was born 13 April 1760 in Simsbury and died in New York. Children born in Bloomfield and baptized in the Wintonbury Church except last two: i. CHLOE b 8 Jan. 1775; bp 17 Sept. 1775; m Mr. ENOS 258. ii. ASHBEL iii. TIMOTHY b 21 Jan. 1781; bp 19 Feb. 1781 iv. LEVI b 17 Aug. 1783; bp 31 Aug. 1783 v. JAMES b 8 Oct. 1789 vi. JOSEPH GAYLORD b 24 Oct. 1793; d 21 Feb. 1882 Chicago, Ill.; m 4 July 1816 N.Y. MARY WHITNEY, dau Joseph F. & Azubah (Griswold) [When I typed in this data, I first suspected a potential problem with the two Azubah Griswolds listed. I then realized that at least the first was associated with Simsbury, CT, a town in which I have quite a few ancestors. In my work with my Simsbury families, I have time and time again noted intermarriages between families. Because of this, I no longer have a problem believing that both names are correctly identified.]
