Family:Whitney, Nathan (1768-1848)

Nathan⁵ Whitney (Benjamin⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Benjamin⁴ and Mercy (Hinckley) Whitney, was born circa 1768, and died Sep 1849 (according to Pierce), but "Dea." died 23 Nov 1848, aged 77 years.^[1]

Marriage intentions were published 25 Dec 1793, Lisbon, ME, or Topsham, ME, for him and his first wife Sarah Godfrey^[2], both "of Little River". She was born say 1773 at probably Lisbon Falls, ME, and died 21 Mar 1827, Lisbon, ME, or 22 Mar 1827, Augusta, ME, aged 53 years.^[3]

Marriage intentions were published 14 Jun 1828, Augusta, ME, for him and his second wife Fannie P. Shepherd "of Hallowell".^[4] He married secondly, 29 Jun 1828, Hallowell, ME, Fannie D. Shephard.^[5] She was born circa 1800, probably Hallowell, ME. She "Mrs." married secondly, 10 Mar 1850, Augusta, ME, Charles Booker.^[6]

Pierce says the following:^[7]
