He married firstly, Martha Maria Richardson,[1] daughter of Schuyler and Minerva (Wilson) Richardson. She was born 22 Dec 1842, NY, and died 1903.[2]
He married secondly, Elva (Prentice)(Cook) Thompson. She was born 18 May 1856, and died 16 Mar 1932, aged 75 years, Wyoming Co., NY.[3]
He enlisted for three years, 11 Aug 1862, Geneseo, NY, as Private, Co. G., 136th New York Volunteer Infantry, in the Civil War. Mustered in 25 Sep 1862. Mustered out as a Private, 13 Jun 1865, with company near Washington, DC. Home address, Geneseo, Livingston Co., NY.
