David8 Whitney (George7, Ephraim6, David5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of George7 and Miriam (Hunt) Whitney, was born Ellington, CT, 18 Feb 1799.
He married 15 Feb 1824, Farmington, NY, Eliza Edgeworth. She apparently died between 1840 and 1850.
He resided Rochester, NY, and Mazomanie, WI.

i. William H.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1826, NY; m. 19 Nov 1856, Grant Co., WI, Persis G. (Whitcher) Ripley. She had married firstly, 21 Oct 1849, Grant Co., WI, Dr. Benjamin Ripley. ii. Melissa E. Whitney or Marthay E. or Lucy E., b. ca. 1835, NY; m. Jan 1852, Eagle, Waukesha Co., WI, Daniel Watkins Bronson.
