Nathaniel F.9 Whitney (Nathaniel8, Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Nathaniel8 and Susan (Edwards) Whitney, was born 26 Sep 1830, Westford, MA,[1] and died after 1920.

He married firstly, 5 Sep 1852, Sarah G. Messer, daughter of George W. and Mary E. (-----) Messer. She was born about 1836, Montville, ME, and died 14 Jun 1879, Lowell, MA, aged 43 years 5 months, of consumption.[2]

He married secondly, 30 Apr 1889, Lowell, MA, Phoebe C. (Boston) Hanson, daughter of Allen and Mary (Marston) Boston.[3] She was born about 16 Nov 1836, Mount Ayer, IA, and died 28 Mar 1907, Lowell, MA, aged 70 years 4 months 12 days, of heart disease.[4] She had married firstly, 4 Jul 1855, Charlestown, MA, George Hanson of Lowell.[5]
