Family:Whitney, James (1807-1882)

James⁷ Whitney (Nathaniel⁶, Abel⁵, Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Nathaniel⁶ and Zilpah (Martin) Whitney, was born 19 Feb 1807,^[1] Standish, ME, was baptized 5 Dec 1816, Standish, ME,^[2] and died 23 May 1882, Standish, ME. He is buried in the Dolloff Road Cemetery in Standish, ME.

Marriage intentions were filed 7 Oct 1832 and published 21 Oct 1832, Standish, ME, for him "of Standish" and Susan Jones "of Scarboro".^[3] He married firstly, 6 Jun 1832, Scarboro, ME, Susan Jones of Scarboro, ME. She died before 1850.

Marriage intentions were filed 26 Sep 1845, Standish, ME, for him and Elizabeth Moody, "both of Standish".^[4] He married secondly, 15 Oct 1845, Elizabeth Moody "both of Standish".^[5] She was born about 1812 and died after 1880.

He was a farmer, and inherited his father's farm in Standish.

iii.	Sarah Whitney, b. ca. 1839, prob. Standish, ME.

James⁷ and Elizabeth (Moody) Whitney had no known children.
