Seymour Murray⁸ Whitney (Erastus⁷, Mason⁶, Micah⁵, James⁴, John³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Erastus⁷ and Betsy (Chadwick) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1829, Philadelphia, NY, and died 26 Aug 1900, Lynn, MA, aged 71 years 7 months 5 days, of catarrhal gastritis.^[1]

He married, 31 Dec 1868, Atlanta, GA, Sarah Jane Barry, daughter of Charles Moore and Elizabeth (Patton (Crook) Barry. She was born 2 Jun 1838, Summerville, GA, and died 8 Jan 1924, Augusta, GA.
