Advent8 Whitney (John7, Phinehas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of John7 and Sarah (Chapman) Whitney, was born about 1827, Waterford, Washington County, OH, and died 1920, Saint Louis, MO.
He married firstly, 23 Dec 1857 [sic: possibly 1847?], Coal Run, Washington County, OH, Rebecca Hall, daughter of William and Missouri (Sprague) Hall. She was born about 1826, OH, and died 1915.
He married secondly, 16 Feb 1871, Saint Louis, MO, Leonora/Sophia Knox, parentage unknown. She was born 1849, IL, and died after 1880.
Advent enlisted as a Private in Company K, 58th Regiment, Illinois Volunteers, 17 Mar 1865, and was mustered out on 21 Mar 1866. He resided in Saint Louis, MO, where he was a carpenter.
