Russell8 Whitney (Moses7, Samuel6, Samuel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Moses7 and Bernice (Locke) Whitney, was born 17 May 1792, Marlboro, VT,[1] and died 21 May 1831, Mount Pleasant, PA.

He married, 12 Apr 1814, Marlboro, VT, Polly Lamb,[2] daughter of Major Joel Lamb. She was born 28 Jan 1789, and died 30 Dec 1843.

He settled in Jackson, PA, at an early day and afterward removed to Mount Pleasant, PA, where he died. Built, in partnership with his brother-in-law Jairus Lamb, the first saw mill in Jackson. He resided Marlboro, VT, and Jackson, PA.
