Elisha7 Whitney (Michael6, Elisha5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Michael6 and Nancy (Leech) Whitney,[1] was born 10 Jun 1824, Beverly, MA,[2] and died 30 Nov 1888, Beverly, MA, aged 64 years 5 months 20 days, of angina pectoris, insurance broker.[3]

He married 29 Jun 1853, Beverly, MA,[4] Charlotte G. Foster, daughter of Ezra and Harriett (Lovett) Foster. She was born about 13 Nov 1829, Syracuse, NY, and died 11 Oct 1901, Beverly, MA, aged 71 years 10 months 28 days, of internal hemorrhage due to malignant disease of stomach.[5]

They lived in Beverly, MA; on Washington Street at his death.

He was a seaman, then a master mariner, and finally an insurance broker.

i. Anna L.8 Whitney, b. -- Mar 1856, Beverly, MA; d. 10 Aug 1907, Beverly, MA, aged 51 years, of fibro-sarcoma uteri with metastasis; unmarried.[6]
ii. Margaret Whitney, b. 20 Dec 1859, Beverly, MA;[7] d. after 1907, then unmarried.
iii. Kate Foster Whitney, b. 19 Mar 1864, Beverly, MA;[8] m. 23 Jul 1895, Beverly, MA, Roland William Boyden., b. ca. 1864, Beverly, MA,son of William C. and Amy L. (Hoag) Boyden.[9]
iv. Granger Whitney, b. 29 Jun 1866, Beverly, MA;[10] resided Hyde Park, Chicago, IL, in 1900.
v. (son) Whitney, b. 24 Jan 1868, Beverly, MA;[11] d. 29 Jan 1868, Beverly, MA, aged 2 days, of infantile.[12]
