He married firstly, 5 Sep 1852, Sarah G. Messer, daughter of George W. and Mary E. (-----) Messer.[2] She was born about 1836, Montville or Union, ME, and died 14 Jun 1879, Lowell, MA, aged 43 years 5 months, of consumption.[3]

(Boston) Hanson, daughter of Allen and Mary (Marston) Boston.[4] She was born about 16 Nov 1836, Mount Ayer, IA, and died 28 Mar 1907, Lowell, MA, aged 70 years 4 months 12 days, of heart disease.[5] She had married firstly, 4 Jul 1855, Charlestown, MA, George Hanson of Lowell.[6]
