Charles7 Whitney (Charles6, Daniel5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Charles6 and Ruth (Chenery) Whitney,[1] was baptized 15 Jul 1810, Watertown, MA,[2] and died 1 Apr 1899, Boston, MA.[3]

He "Jr." "of Watertown" married firstly, 29 Dec 1840, Hardwick, MA, Martha G. Collins,[4] daughter of Gamaliel and Elizabeth (Billing) Collins.[5] She was born about 1815, Hardwick, MA (calculated from census and death records),[6] and died 4 May 1869, Watertown, MA, aged 54 years.[7]

He "of Watertown, stone mason, aged 59, born Watertown" married secondly, 15 Mar 1870, Watertown, MA, Martha Etheridge White "of Braintree, aged 45, born Braintree",[8] daughter of Calvin and Margery (Hayward) White.[9] She was born 20 Sep 1825, Braintree, MA,[10] and died 9 Aug 1915.[11] They were married by W. Blagden, Sen. Pastor, Old South [Church, Boston].

In the 1850 census, Charles, Martha and all 5 children are living in Watertown, Middlesex, MA. His occupation is a lumberdealer. Value of Real Estate was listed as $10,000.

The 1855 Massachusetts State Census, Watertown, MA, shows:

In the 1870 census, he is living in Watertown with Martha, Ruth and Mary. His occupation is a RR contractor. The value of his real estate is listed as $15,000 with $5000 as the value of his personal estate. The census was taken on 10 Jun 1870.

In the 1880 U.S. Census, Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts, T9-0549, p. 452C, is found:
