19 Jan 1867, Harrison H. Whitney petitioned for the probate of his will. He left no widow. His heirs were daughter Mary A. Thayer, Salem; daughter Arethusa W. Adams, Salem; daughter Sarah W. Adams, Montague; daughter Emily A. Tenney, Orange; son Alexander S. Whitney, Orange; and son Harrison H. Whitney, Orange.
Will: Abner Whitney of Orange. To four daughters Mary A. Thayer, Arethusa W. Adams, Sarah W. Adams, and Emily A. Tenney, $600 each. Remainder to two sons Alexander S. Whitney and Harrison H. Whitney, to be divided equally. Son Harrison H. Whitney sole executor. Dated 1 Jan 1861. Witnessed by Hiram Woodward, W. S. Ballou, and John W. Wheeler. Proved 5 Feb 1867. Recorded Book 50, page 8.
