Sanford Merritt Whitney (Hiram, Adolphus, Benjamin), son of Hiram and Achsah Philena (Balch) Whitney, was born 10 Dec 1840, Hartland, VT, and died after 1910.
He married, 7 Jul 1869, Hartland, VT, Adalaide M. Morey, both of Hartland, daughter of I. and M. (-----) Morey. She was born Sep 1845, Hartland, VT.[1]
