George Henry8 Whitney (Sewell7, Jonathan6, (prob.) Jonathan5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Sewell7 and Lucy (Craig) Whitney, was born about 1824, ME, and died 24 Dec 1877, Bradford, MN.
He married 16 July 1854, Kirkland (now Hudson), ME, Melissa Ann Carson, daughter of William and Dolly (-----) Carson. She was apparently born about 1838, ME, and died 17 May 1916, Cambridge, MN. According to the 1900 Census of Cambridge, MN, she was born in Sep 1861, ME, but that is dubious.
George Henry Whitney was a farmer and is found in various records under either his first or middle name. He is buried in the East Bradford Cemetery in Isanti Co., MN, as "Henry Whitney", corporal, Co. B and Co. N, 11th Minnsota Infantry.
