John M. Whitney, possibly was the same as John7 Whitney (Abel6, Benjamin5, Joseph4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), who was son of Abel6 and Phebe (Scott) Whitney, and born 28 Sep 1793, Tunbridge, VT.

In any case, he was born before 1805, VT, and died before 1850. He was buried in Bloods Point Cemetery, Flora Township, Boone Co., IL.[1]

He married firstly, date and place unknown, ----- -----. She died Jan 1826, as a result of childbirth.

He married secondly, 4 Oct 1827, Shelby Co., IN, Mary (Nichols) Lucas.[2] She was born about 1795, NY. She was buried in Bloods Point Cemetery, Flora Township, Boone Co., IL.[3] She had married firstly, 27 Feb 1823, Shelby Co., IN, Eber Lucas, son of Moses and Abiah (Barnes) Lucas. He had married firstly Eunice Woolworth. He was born 1782, Middletown, CT, and died Jul 1826, Shelby Co., IN. He was buried in Hanover Cemetery, Morristown, IN.[4]
