James F.⁸ Whitney (James⁷, Aaron⁶, Levi⁵, Daniel⁴, Jonathan³, Jonathan², John¹), son of James⁷ and Julia A. (Dorr) Whitney, was born 7 Jan 1840, Westbrook or Saco, ME, and died 11 Apr 1919, Hartford, CT.^[1]

He married, before 1867, Ellen Strange. She was born 17 Mar 1838, St. Stephen, NB, and died 9 Dec 1936, Hartford, CT.^[2]

All of this family are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.

He resided 60 Walnut St., Hartford, CT.
