Alphonso8 Whitney (Everett7, Cornelius6, William5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), probably son of Everett7 and Anna (Dean) Whitney, was born about 1825, CT, and died after 1870. He may be the Alphonzo Whitney who died 29 Nov 1880, aged 55 years, and was buried in Darby Presbyterian Cemetery, Darby, NY.[1]

He married, 10 Feb 1856, Winstead, CT, or 31 Jan 1856, Salisbury, CT, Mary Ann Chapman, daughter of William and Betsey (Crane) Chapman.[2] She died 20 Oct 1902, Salisbury, CT, aged 71 years.[3]
