John9 Whitney (Ruluff8, Ruluff Dutcher7, Cornelius6, William5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Ruluff8 and ----- (-----) Whitney, was born Nov 1844, CT, and died 8 Jan 1911, New Haven, CT.[1] He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT.[2]

He married, about 1888, Agnes Elizabeth Thompson. She was born 26 Mar 1852, and died 2 Aug 1932. She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT.[3]

John Whitney fought in Co. I, 1st Ohio Light Artillery, during the Civil War. In 1907 he applied for and was granted an invalid pension, #1,142,214.[4]
