Family:Whitney, Henry Dow (1845-1915)

Henry Dow⁸ Whitney (Lorenzo Dow⁷, Ira⁶,` Hezekiah⁵, Hezekiah⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of Lorenzo Dow⁷ and Melinda (Reynolds) Whitney, was born 28 Apr 1845, Fletcher, VT, and died 18 Apr 1915, Brattleboro, VT, aged 70 years, of chronic interstitial nephritis. He was buried in Morningside Cemetery, Brattleboro, VT.^[1]

He married, 15 Oct 1865, Belvidere, VT, Harriet Clarina (Reynolds) Lamonday, daughter of Ebenezer Haskel and Lois Chase (Squires) Reynolds.^[2] She was born 15 Jul 1844, Fairfield, VT, and died after 5 Nov 1902. She had married firstly, 20 Feb 1861, Belvidere, CT, Lewis Lamonday. He died 15 Sep 1862, New Orleans, LA. He had served in Co. E, 7th Vermont Infantry.

He was a farmer; enlisted, 10 Dec. 1861, in Co. F, 8th Reg., Vermont Vol. Infantry, and was discharged 10 June 1865. They settled at Hyde Park, VT; and, in May 1873, moved to Belvidere, where they were living in Jul 1874.
