Sylvester⁶ Whitney (Matthias⁵, Joshua⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Matthias⁵ and Dorcas (Vaughan) Whitney, was born 15 Aug 1785, Hancock, MA,^[1] and died 25 Feb 1855, Oakfield, NY.

He married, Granville, NY, Laura Yale, daughter of Joel and Rachel (Moss) Yale. She was born 3 Aug 1791, Wallingford, CT, and died 26 Feb 1865, Batavia, NY. He resided Riga, Batavia, and Oakfield, NY.
