Phineas⁵ Whitney (Isaac⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Isaac⁴ and Sarah (Crosby) Whitney, was born 5 Jun 1747, York, ME,^[1] and died 13 Nov 1832, Norridgewock, ME; Record of Mortality in Norridgewock 1774-1891 (also LDS film No 11577) p 29. "Nov. 13, 1832 Phineas Whitney, consumption and old age, 82 years".

He married firstly, 19 Oct 1769, Gorham, ME, Anna Morton, daughter of Bryant and Thankful (Parker) Morton.

He married secondly, before 1 Sep 1818, Norridgewock, ME, Mary (Blethen)(Fish) Emerson. She had married firstly, 8 Jun 1779, Georgetown, ME, Isaac Fish. She had married secondly, 15 Apr 1786, Georgetown, ME, Ezekiel Emerson.

i.	Stephen6 Whitney, b. 23 Sep 1771, Gorham, ME; m. 26 Jan 1800, Limington, ME, Ruth Boody.
ii.	Crosby Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1773, Gorham, ME; "of North Yarmouth" m. (int. 15 Jul 1795, North Yarmouth, ME, and 20 Jul 1795, Standish, ME) Mary Higgins "of Standish".
iii.	Affia Whitney, b. 12 Jan 1776, Gorham, ME; m. (int. 3 Jan 1795, North Yarmouth, ME) 12 Feb 1795, North Yarmouth or Cumberland, ME, Dominicus Mitchell, by Rev. Rufus Anderson. She was also known as Affie or Aphia Whitney.
iv.	Jonathan Whitney, b. 8 Feb 1778, Gorham, ME; m. 16 Aug 1798, Bridgton, ME Polly Gates.
v.	Jabez Whitney, b. 22 Mar 1780, prob. North Yarmouth, ME; m. Abigail Milk Wheeler.
vi.	John Whitney, b. say 1782; m. (int. 11 Nov 1804, North Yarmouth, ME) 29 Nov 1804, Freeport, ME Mary Walker "of Freeport". He lived, 1832, Portland, ME.
vii.	Anna Whitney, b. circa 1789; d. 29 May 1858; m. (int. 20 Aug 1809, North Yarmouth, ME) 2 Nov 1809, North Yarmouth, ME, David Chandler "of Wilton", son of Jacob and Rhoda (Pollard) Chandler.
viii.	Reuben Whitney, bapt. 29 May 1792, Cumberland or North Yarmouth, ME; m. 11 Sep 1819, Mercer, ME, Lucy Sawyer. He lived, 1832, Norridgewock, ME.

Phineas⁵ and Mary (Blethen)(Fish)(Emerson) Whitney had no children.
