Silas7 Whitney (Cornelius6, Cornelius5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Cornelius6 and Rhoda (Gould) Whitney; born Vermont 10 Oct 1809; married in Sandy Creek, New York, 8 Mar 1838, Matilda Cross; born Sept. 2, 1814; resided Coleridge, Nebraska. He was a farmer. He died 5 Apr 1891; resided Centerville, New York, and Iowa.

i. Caroline8 Whitney, born 2 Mar 1841; married 13 Aug 1864, T. W. Winters; res Marne, Iowa. He was born 25 Sep 1841; is a carpenter and wagon maker. - Ch.: William W., born 10 Oct 1865; married Apr. 30, 1891; Edwin D. and Anna both died in infancy; Ora A., born Nov. 20, 1874; post office address of both, Marne, Iowa.
