William Barrett8 Whitney (Phineahas7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born in Winchendon, 14 Jun 1801; married 20 Dec 1827, Lois Stone; born Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, 25 May 1802. Ch.: Harold W., born Jan. 26, 1855; married Frances E. Ball; book-keeper Nat'l Bank of Republic, Boston, Massachusetts; Charles Herbert, born 20 Aug 1860; Ralph L., born 10 Nov 1870. Rev. Abram Wilder Stevens was born in Barre, Massachusetts, 22 Jan 1834. He was educated at the preparatory school connected with the theological seminary, Meadville, Pennsylvania, and graduated therefrom in the class of 1862. He was ordained as a Unitarian minister at Manchester, New Hampshire, in 1863 and was settled over the Unitarian society in that city until 1865, when he received a call from the Lee Street society in Cambridge, Mass, which he accepted, and was settled over that society in 1865. He remained there until 1870, having been connected with this church and society for a period of five years. He is now connected with and is at the head of the proof-reading department of the University Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
iv. Louisa Lyman Whitney, born 8 Aug 1836; married 4 Sep 1855, Jason A. Morrison; born Warren, Pennsylvania, 16 Nov 1828; died 15 May 1865.
