Cooley8 Whitney (Luther7, Nathaniel6, Samuel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), was born 18 December 1799, Vermont,[1] and died 1834, Huntsville, Alabama.[2]


He married 13 October 1827, Morgan County Alabama, Anne Martin.[3]



Cooley Whitney was first documented in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1822.[4] Mr. Richard Kirkland, owner of Kirkland's Dry Goods, in Huntsville, Alabama graciously allowed in a deposition for Judge Green P. Rice that Cooley Whitney was "an exceptionally fine looking young man, well spoken and mannered".[5]


Cooley and Ann Martin Whitney had no documented children.
