Samuel Vincent8 Whitney (Samuel7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Samuel7 and Abigail (Wilder) Whitney, was born 25 May 1820, Ashburnham, MA, and died 3 Jul 1856, Ashburnham, MA.
He married, 31 Jan 1843, Sarah Ann Russell. She was born -----, and died 9 Apr 1875.
He was postmaster for some years and engaged in the morocco business; resided Ashburnham, MA.
Children of Samuel V.8 and Sarah Ann (Russell) Whitney:
i. Russell Whitney, b. 13 Nov 1844; m. 11 Jun 1867, Maria Metcalf, b. 25 Dec 1846; resided Gardner, MA. ii. Willis9 Whitney, b. 22 Nov 1848; d. 22 Aug 1849. iii. Eleanor Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1851; d. 29 Jul 1852 iv. Luella Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1851; d. 26 Jan 1877.
